Mr Bean is over 20 years old! Mr Bean was first broadcast in the UK on ITV on 1st January 1990. Since then he has become known all over the world!

2012
November sees the official Mr Bean Facebook page hit 30 million fans! 1 Billion clip views are reached on the official Mr Bean Youtube channel. Youtube runs a campaign featuring Mr Bean at 20 London Underground Stations. Best of British product is launched to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games hosted in London. The official Mr Bean website is relaunched with a new look and brand new games, information and the first ever Mr Bean shop.
2011
TyUK launches a new Teddy bear.
The Mr Bean costume character runs alongside 38,000 people in the Mumbai Marathon.
2010
It is the 20th Anniversary of Mr Bean! The Live Action Series returns to its original home on ITV in the UK for the first time in 15 years (January 5th 2010). Mr Bean's Diary is re-released in the UK in a special anniversary edition. The Animated Series is launched on the Cartoon Network channel, Boomerang in the UK (July 2010). A&E video release the Mr Bean's Most Memorable Moments compilation in the USA (16th March 2010). Universal launches the first UK Collector's edition of the Live Action Series.
2009
Mr Bean rides again at the Goodwood Revival (Sept 2009).
2008
The Original series is upgraded to HD.
2007
Mr Bean's Guide to France is published by Bloomsbury on 5th March. The first showing of Mr Bean's Holiday is first released in Malaysia & Singapore (23rd March 2007). Mr Bean's Holiday is released in the UK grossing $235million worldwide (30th March 2007). Mr Bean's Holiday is launched in the US and achieves box office gross US $ 32.6 million (24 Aug 2007). Mr Bean is turned into its first video game and launched in the UK. Mr Bean Live Action Series is first shown on a Spanish speaking US Network, Telemundo.
2006
Mr. Bean's Holiday is filmed in France from May to August 2006.
2005
Mr Bean moves into the world of mobile phone games. (5th Feb 2005).
2004
Mr Bean Animated Series launches on Nickelodeon UK and is the highest rated show on Nicktoons.
The Original Mr Bean series returns to UK television screens after a break of nearly 5 years.
Mr Bean's Amazing A-Z partwork launches in the UK (Jan 2004).
2003
Mr Bean is launched on DVD for the first time in the US (29th April 2003). The 26th and the last episode of the Mr Bean Animated Series is completed (Feb 2003). The Mr Bean Live Action Series first arrives on DVD in US shops, released by A&E Video (April 2003). The Mr Bean Animated Series is first launched on DVD in the UK by A&E Video (Oct 2003).
2002
The first episode of the Mr Bean Animated Series is broadcasted for the first time on CBC in Canada (25th Jan 2002). The Mr Bean Animated Series is broadcasted for the first time in the UK on ITV (2nd March 2002). A new Mr Bean’s Diary is published to coincide with the Animated Series.
2001
The two and a half year production schedule for the Mr Bean Animated Series is drawn up.
The first episode of The Mr Bean Animated Series is completed (December 2001).
2000
Mr Bean celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the Original series.
1999
1999 saw the end of the Original Mr Bean series on TV in the UK. It didn’t return until 2004.
1998
Mr Bean’s Official Guidebook: ‘Mr Bean Mania’ is published in Japan (April 1998). The Mr Bean Live Action series is taken on by the Fox Family Channel in the US. Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie is first released on VHS (31st March 1998).
1997
On 3rd July the first showing of Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie is released in Australia. On 1st August it is released in the UK and is one of the highest ever UK box office earners. Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie grosses US $7.3million at the Canadian box offices (17th Oct 1997). “It was the first film ever to be premiered in Canada yet it still made the US Top Ten.”. Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie is released in the US and grosses a massive US $35 million (7th Nov 1997). Mr Bean appears in a Boyzone music video for ‘Picture of You’. Mr Bean appears in Mr Bean’s Wedding, a Comic Relief Special for BBC1.
1996
February 1996 sees the first video release of Mr Bean in the US by PolyGram Video. A McDonald’s video promotion in Germany breaks records by selling 1 million units within one month.
1995
The last episode of Mr Bean to be produced, Goodnight, Mr Bean, is broadcast on UK television (31st Oct 1995). The Mr Bean Live Action Series is first launched on the PBS network and licensed to over 60 stations with top ratings in many major cities. Mr Bean appears in Torville and Bean, a comic relief special for BBC1. 1995 sees the first broadcasts of Tee off Mr Bean (20th Sep 1995) and Goodnight, Mr Bean (31st Oct 1995).
1994
Mr Bean appears on Blind Date for a Comic Relief special on BBC1. 1994 sees the first broadcasts of Do-It-Yourself Mr Bean (10th Jan 1994), Mind the Baby Mr Bean (25th Apr 1994) and Back to School Mr Bean (26th Oct 1994).
Corgi produces the first die-cast, lime green Mr Bean Mini. Rowan Atkinson is nominated for a BAFTA for 'Best Light Entertainment Performance'. Mr Bean's Pocket Diary is released.
1993
1993 sees the first broadcast of Mr Bean in Room 426 (17th Feb 1993). 'Mr Bean's Diary' is first published by Boxtree and goes on to sell 1 million copies. HBO becomes co-production partner for the Mr Bean Live Action Series. 1993 is a great year for awards as Mr Bean scoops up the International Emmy (Popular Arts), the Banff World Television Award (Comedies) and the first episode of Mr Bean wins the Golden Rose award at the 1993 Rose d'Or Light Entertainment Festival in Montreux. 1993 sees the first International video release of Mr Bean.
1992
On 1st January 18.7 million viewers in the UK tune in to watch The Trouble with Mr Bean, and 19 million viewers tune in for Merry Christmas Mr Bean (29th Dec 1992). 1992 also sees the first broadcast of Mr Bean Rides Again (17th Feb 1992). Mr Bean records his own Comic Relief single called '(I want to be) Elected', a cover of an Alice Cooper song. It reaches number 9 in the UK singles chart. Mr Bean is nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Comedy Programme Series.
1991
The first video of Mr Bean is released in the UK (Sept 1991). Mr Bean appears in the music video for the Comic Relief single 'The Stonk' by Hale and Pace and appears in a one-off special for Comic Relief called Mr Bean's Red Nose Day (15th March 1991). 1991 also sees the first broadcast of Mr Bean Goes to Town (15th Oct 1991). The Curse Of Mr Bean is nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Light Entertainment Programme and Rowan Atkinson is nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Light Entertainment Performance. ITV1 in the UK licenses rights to show the first ever series of Mr Bean. 1990 sees the first broadcast of the very first episode of Mr Bean, Mr Bean (1st Jan 1990) and of The Return of Mr Bean (5th Nov 1990) and The Curse of Mr Bean (30th Dec 1990).
